Jennifer Schultz is a lifelong Syracuse resident and the 1st district Syracuse Common Councilor. As the Transportation Committee chair for the council, she also serves on the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council (SMTC) Policy Committee. Prior to being elected in 2022, she worked in medical research and was published in several medical journals. She has been a community activist for more than 20 years serving on several school boards and parent organizations, is a neighborhood leader/organizer, a supporter of the film industry in Syracuse, a college housing advisor, nursing home volunteer, and food pantry and homeless and hungry advocate. Transportation is a priority for her and she is currently advocating for bus rapid transit (brt) and traffic calming solutions to improve traffic safety and mobility in Syracuse.
