Syracuse, New York – June 6, 2024 – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) today celebrated the launch of Sun Country Airlines’ first ever regularly scheduled flights at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). The low-cost carrier flew the inaugural inbound and outbound flights of their twice weekly service between Syracuse and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) today.
Today’s inaugural flights were celebrated with a party at Gate 5. Travelers heard about the importance of this new service from representatives of Sun Country and the SRAA at a press event. Travelers on the inbound flight were treated to a water cannon salute, visible to the outbound passengers waiting at Gate 5.
The Thursday and Sunday service is currently scheduled as seasonal and can be booked through September 2, 2024. Nonstop flights from Syracuse to Minneapolis-St. Paul depart midday, served by the airline’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft featuring 186 seats.

Travelers can fly directly to 30 destinations via nonstop flights from Syracuse. Nine airlines now operate regularly scheduled flights at SYR.
