Syracuse, New York – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) and Breeze Airways today celebrated the launch of new nonstop service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) directly to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). The seasonal service is scheduled to operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
“Raleigh-Durham and the Research Triangle of North Carolina are very important to our region, and we are excited to have a new nonstop option from our partner Breeze Airways,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “There is a strong connection between our markets for visiting friends and relatives, supporting the men and women competing in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports, and the advanced manufacturing & technology sector.”
Today’s inaugural flight departed SYR at 2:25 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive just after 4:00 p.m. at RDU. Travelers departing Syracuse on the inaugural flight were treated to a celebration at Gate 12 including decorations, baked goods, giveaways, and a water cannon salute.
