Syracuse, New York –The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) announced today that Matte Black Lounges has chosen Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) for a special 10-day offering of their premium lounge experience. The special offering of this all-inclusive lounge will run from Thursday February 25th through Saturday March 6th.

Access to The Lounge at SYR– which will be located in Concourse A – will cost $25 at the door, with Priority Pass members receiving complimentary access. Customers will enjoy an all-inclusive food and beverage experience – including local wines and craft beers – as they wait for their flight in a comfortable, less crowded atmosphere.

“As travel rebounds and people seek more private waiting spaces while flying, we see a great opportunity to offer an elevated, premium lounge experience for Central New York travelers,” said Matte Black co-founder Gabe Trumbo.

Trumbo and partner David Nguyen are both MBA Candidates at the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. Matte Black won the “Cornell Hospitality Business Plan Competition,” earning them $25,000 toward their business idea last year and they are currently participating in the University’s “eLab” Accelerator. Their partners on this project include regional design and staging company ReDesigned Inc. as well as Ithaca Hummus and Grabanzos.

“We are thrilled that Matte Black Lounges has chosen SYR as their launch airport with this 10-day initial offering,” said SYR Executive Director Jason Terreri. “This test will help ensure a new permanent lounge exceeds our customers’ expectations. This is the first of several upgrades our passengers will experience when they return to SYR.”
