Nick received a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in Political Science. Currently Nick is enrolled in Syracuse University’s College of Law. Nick has participated in many local programs including Leadership Greater Syracuse Political Leadership Institute and The Gifford Foundation Nourishing Tomorrow’s Leaders.
From 2016-2018, Nick had founded Together Now, Inc., a not-for-profit organization with a vision to provide high school students, between the ages of sixteen and eighteen years of age, with paid summer internships. The organization’s Emerging Leader’s Summer Internship Program included a weekly personal and professional development workshop rooted in the spirit of entrepreneurship and personal growth with the end goal of providing life changing skills, experiences, and connections to future leaders of our community. From 2018-2020, Nick was appointed to the Onondaga County Justice Center Oversight Committee, a panel of community members authorized to review serious complaints and incidents that involve the Onondaga County Jail. The Committee is also authorized to generate related recommendations about Justice Center policy, procedure, and training.
Prior to becoming the Town of Salina Supervisor, Nick Paro was a Legislative Analyst with Onondaga County, New York where he provided support to legislators in the areas of administration, research and analysis, public relations, and communication.
