Syracuse, New York – August 6, 2024 – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) is excited to welcome Miss Prissy’s to the Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) concessions lineup. Serving American Soul Food with class and style, the local favorite will be located in the previous eSavvy gift shop location in the post-security checkpoint hallway leading to Terminal B gates. This location, just down the hall from the TSA security checkpoint, will be conveniently accessible to all travelers, regardless of their departure terminal.

Miss Prissy’s – a New York State Certified Minority and Woman Owned Business – was located in the Salt City Market food hall in Downtown Syracuse. Having successfully graduated from the business incubator, founders Dreamer Glen and Cyrus Thornton are excited to open two new locations for their thriving, black owned upscale full-service restaurant. The first location will be on South Warren Street with an expected opening in November of this year.  Construction is expected to commence on her airport location in late 2024 with a targeted opening date of 1st quarter 2025.

“As we expand and improve the airport, our mission is to ensure travelers can savor the finest local flavors Syracuse has to offer,” said SRAA Chief Commercial Officer Jason Mehl. “By partnering with Dreamer and Cyrus to introduce Miss Prissy’s to the airport, we are bringing our vision to life, creating a genuine ‘sense of place,’ and elevating the entire passenger experience.”

Dreamer is excited to meet and serve the diverse clientele from all over the world who pass through SYR. “Food is the ultimate unifier. You can crack anyone with a good meal!”

About Miss Prissy’s

Miss Prissy’s started as a vision by Dreamer Glen over 23 years ago. Glen’s goal is to help build community one plate at a time, serving American Soul Food with class and style using the same values instilled in her through her grandmother, Rosalee N. Glen while growing up.

Miss Prissy’s was established as a general partnership between Dreamer L. Glen and Cyrus Thornton in 2017 and in February of 2020 became an LLC. In 2023, Miss Prissy gained NYS MWBE certification. They offer superior service and stellar food for all of Syracuse and its surrounding clients such as CenterState CEO, Upstate Hospital, Crouse Hospital, Gifford Foundation, The Charitable Fund, Syracuse, Colgate, ESF Colleges and several others.  In December of 2022, Miss Prissy’s launched Miss Prissy’s Sassy Sauce that can be found in local supermarkets in and around the Syracuse area.

Miss Prissy’s has set the mood of modern amazing dining with typical food. Their colorful, clean, and simple interior architecture and comfortable seating will allow them to better meet the needs of their customers. Their menu has always presented a welcome change to the city of Syracuse where soul food options are limited.

Previously, Miss Prissy’s was located in the Salt City Market food hall in downtown Syracuse.  Their location at 431 S Warren Street is slated to open in November of 2024. They will be the only black owned upscale full-service restaurant in downtown Syracuse.

Cyrus is a Syracuse transplant; he’s been living in the area for approximately 10 years. He is a graduate of Benedict College.

Dreamer was born and raised in Syracuse and is a graduate of Henninger HS. She has a college degree from SUNY Albany.
