Syracuse, New York – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) is excited to welcome nearly 60,000 departing travelers to Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) this year for Thanksgiving travel. Defined as the period of Thursday, November 20, 2025, through Monday, December 1, 2025; the SRAA is expecting more than 8,000 passengers arriving to and departing from SYR each day. One third of departing travelers are scheduled to depart before 7:00 a.m. each day.
Those who have not visited the airport since last year will find updates to the airport’s appearance, size, and amenities. The multi-year Terminal Expansion Project was completed last week, adding gates and expanding existing gate seating in both Concourse A and Concourse B. Multiple new food and beverage options were launched in early 2025 including Qdoba Mexican Eats in the hallway leading to the Concourse A gates and Einstein Bros.’ Bagels in Concourse B near Gate 22 – both open for breakfast and lunch.
“We’re excited to welcome holiday travelers to our newly expanded terminal,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “From spacious and ample seating at the gates to tasty new food and beverage options, our guests will enjoy an elevated holiday travel experience this year.”
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoint at SYR operates from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. Travelers are asked to arrive two hours prior to their scheduled departure for the best experience possible. This is particularly important during the busiest departure windows of 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. – noon, and 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
If driving to the airport, travelers are encouraged to pre-book their parking online on the airport’s website here. Travelers are asked to please pay close attention to the parking lot they have booked as the reservation is only valid for the parking lot booked. If unable to pre-book, drivers should monitor the real-time parking availability at the airport here.
