Syracuse, New York – May 6, 2024 – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) announced today a Master Plan Update Public Open House will be held this Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Slated for the Airport’s J.P. Walsh Conference Room, the Master Plan Update’s third Open House will serve as an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Master Plan Update process and review the preferred 20-year development plan for the Airport. Members of the public will be able to meet the project team, review critical information, ask questions, and provide comments on the future of Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) in an informal setting.
Airport master plans set forth the direction of an airport for up to 20 years. They provide a vision of the specific, long-range development plans of an airport based on forecasts of aviation activity, potential environmental effects, community compatibility, and financial feasibility.
“We stand at a critical time in our region’s development and our team has focused considerable efforts on refining the preferred 20-year development plan for our airport,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “The airport is often the first and last impression travelers have of our region. This makes it more crucial than ever to accommodate the forecasted traffic levels while maintaining an exceptional customer experience.”
