Syracuse, New York – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) and Onondaga County Public Libraries (OCPL) celebrated the unveiling of the SYR Reading Runway – Presented by OCPL this morning at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). The children’s library is located on the second level of the airport near the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security screening checkpoint. Traveling families are encouraged to peruse the free offerings of the library and take books for their children to enjoy during their journey.
“We’re really excited about the Reading Runway at Syracuse’s Hancock International Airport,” said OCPL Executive Director Christian Zabriskie. “The Onondaga County Public Library is always looking for new ways to serve our community and new spaces for us to try out library services. This pop-up furniture was used at the Salt City Market for months and is now ready to offer a great new service to travelers in Central New York. We hope that this will help showcase the great quality of life of our region to the travelers and businesses which are coming through our city every day.”
“It’s all about enhancing the customer experience for families passing through our airport,” said SRAA Marketing and Communications Specialist Matt Szwejbka. “We know traveling with little ones can be overwhelming at times. Thanks to this collaboration with OCPL, we can now give parents one less thing to worry about when preparing for their travels.”
