Syracuse, New York –The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) announced today that the first phase of a multi-year Parking Deck Rehabilitation Project will commence Monday, August 9th, at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR).
In anticipation of the construction, the northernmost portion of each level of the parking deck have been closed, reducing the parking capacity of the parking deck by approximately 900 spots for the duration of the project. Both the open parking lot and overflow lot (when needed) will be available to accommodate travelers. The north entrance to the parking deck has also been temporarily closed for the duration of the project. Travelers will still be able to enter the parking deck on the south side of the deck.
Additionally, the north passenger bridge from the parking deck to the terminal building will be closed, as well as all stairwells on the north side of the parking deck. Passengers are asked to please follow signage to navigate between the parking deck and terminal building.
“Although we understand that this is an inconvenience, it’s necessary routine maintenance that needs to be performed during the short construction season we experience here in Upstate New York,” said SYR Executive Director Jason Terreri. “We appreciate the traveling public’s understanding and patience. Our goal is to have this phase of the project completed for the holiday season.”
Departing travelers are encouraged to arrive two hours prior to their scheduled departure. This will ensure a comfortable amount of time to find a parking spot, check-in with your airline, and pass through the security checkpoint.
