Current and Future Projects
Runway 15-33 Overlay
This project will consist of rehabilitation and overlay of 6,000 lineal feet of secondary Runway 15-33. The overlay will consist of a true and leveling course, crack repair and sealing, runway grooving, the application of new markings, and replacement of high intensity runway edge lights and guidance signs.
Acquire ARFF Equipment
This project includes the acquisition of a "Class 2 - 3,000 gallon" Aircraft Rescue and FireFighting (ARFF) vehicle. The ARFF vehicle will be an all wheel drive, diesel powered vehicle having a mechanical foam/water system designed for extinguishing flammable and combustible liquid fuel fires.
Acquire Multi-Purpose Snow Removal Equipment
This project includes the purchase of a multi-purpose snow removal vehicle which includes a snow blower, a plow and sweeper brush. Sweepers are the first line of defense in any snow event. This will allow the airport to remain open and reduce delays during these events.
Rehabilitate Runway Intersection (Design)
This is the Design Phase of a project that will include the rehabilitation and overlay of Runway 15-33, Runway 10-28, Taxiway "A" and Taxiway "L". Rehabilitation will generally include a bituminous concrete overlay, a true and leveling course, crack repair and sealing, runway grooving, the application of new markings, and replacement of high intensity runway and taxiway edge lights, centerline lights, Touchdown Zone lights, and guidance signs.
Design and Construction of Replacement Airfield Signage
This project includes the design and replacement of approximately 170 Taxiway Guidance sign panels used throughout the airfield by airline and Department of Aviation personnel.
Runway 33 Instrument Approach Feasibility Study and Environmental Analysis
This project includes preparing a feasibility study for the installation of Instrument Landing System (ILS) components for precision instrument approaches to Runways 15 and 33. The Environmental Assessment (EA) will assess the potential environmental impacts that would result with the installation of ILS approaches to Runways 15 and 33.
Rehabilitate Taxiway "M" South (Design)
This is the Design Phase of a project that will include the rehabilitation and overlay of Taxiway "M" South. Rehabilitation will generally include a bituminous concrete overlay, a true and leveling course, crack repair and sealing, the application of new markings, and replacement of medium intensity taxiway edge lights and guidance signs.
